Where there is unity, there is strength. Community partners are important to New Beginnings. Below is an update on our recent news.
2022 Stop the Violence Rally:
Thanks, Mrs.Tanner, Acting Director, and Mr. Moore, Graduate Intern, both from the Montgomery Housing Authority, for allowing New Beginnings to participate in this year's Stop the Violence Rally at Paterson Court.
2021 Christmas Toy & Gift Give-away:
Thanks, Episcopal Church of the Ascension, Christmas Clearinghouse, Toys-for-Tots, and anonymous donors for providing Christmas toys to New Beginnings' families. Because of your generosity, 23 families and nearly 60 children received gifts during the Christmas season.
2021 Thanksgiving and Christmas Food Box Give-aways:
Thanks, community volunteers, the Episcopal Church of the Ascension, Temple Beth Or, South Decatur Missionary Baptist Church, Christchurch Angelican, New Beginnings' staff, and Board of Directors for packing much needed food boxes for our families.
2021 Vintage Luncheon:
New Beginnings hosted its first Vintage Luncheon with community stakeholders. We broke bread, discussed some of the problems plaguing our families and community and brainstormed on solutions.
New Beginnings was one of three Montgomery-based nonprofits to receive a USA Today Network grant. Through crowdfunding and support from the Gannett Foundation, the $2,500 given will go toward tutoring low-income students. To read the article in the Montgomery Advertiser click here...
